Bonfire Planning Meeting
It’s nearly that time of year again – the Annual Chelsea Park Bonfire will be here before we know it! This amazing community event is wholly organised and run by the Scout Group & we can’t do this without your help! To this end:
BONFIRE PLANNING MEETING
THURSDAY 5th OCTOBER – 6:30pm PROMPT
This event had been run by the group for 20+ years and has grown into an extremely successful and widely anticipated event for the local community. This one yearly fundraiser pays for the vast majority of the needs of the Scout Group, past profits have been used for camping equipment, games kit, subsidising camps & events etc… and is the main reason why the 72nd can provide such a wide range of exciting activities for your young people.
As you can imagine there is a lot of work that goes into organising an event like this (quite a lot of which has already been going on in the background), both in advance and on the weekend itself. After so many years running the event we’re got much of the plan together but need people to volunteer to take on specific roles and tasks.
The meeting on Thursday will aim to go through the plan, and detail what each of the roles requires with the intention of having all advance tasks assigned by the end of the meeting. There are a wide variety of things from as simple as booking a skip all the way to facilitating the ‘Big Shop’ at Makro so there’s something you’ll be able to help out with no matter how much time you can commit.
We will also be outlining the plan for the weekend itself, and again everything is split into small tasks for people to volunteer for whether you can commit an hour or two on the morning of the event or stay for the whole thing we have the perfect jobs for you!
This really is a rewarding event, and the more people that get involved from ALL THREE SECTIONS the more successful and smooth running the event will be.
We look forward to seeing you on Thursday – should you not be able to make the meeting but would still like to volunteer please contact email@example.com and I’m sure we can find you a suitable task
